From taking a spin around Practice all week came the realization I haven’t practiced anything in a very long time.
Possibly 2003? in an attempt to learn Spanish before venturing to inland Mexico.
Wow. Am I really that stuck doing same-old, same-old?
Hold on a minute, the learning hasn’t stopped.
Or the growing.
I’m certainly not the same person from a decade ago.
Click. Ping. B.A.M.
I’m practicing Life, not skills.
A shift gone unnoticed – until now.
With interests varying widely, “jack of all trade and master” of none suits me just fine.
Not that I don’t do things well.
I just don’t need to be the best at everything.
Or most things really.
More than good enough plus some hits the spot.
That’s not where enjoyment comes from.
Curiosity is a powerful driver running fast and deep.
And while pieces don’t always make sense in the moment, they somehow fit together at some point.
Striving for a particular level puts my mind squarely in the way of my heart.
What could have been fun and enlivening is at great risk of turning sour.
Perhaps Practice is simply about giving our full attention to something.
In a fast paced world our focus is pulled in too many directions.
Doing many things over time is far different than many things at once.
Bringing awareness to the moment is a most important skill always worth honing.
What flows from there is for us to decide.
Living Bliss is a jump-in-with-both-feet look at where Life bumps into the everyday – whether at work, play or times in between. Bliss knows no separation in the end. From a deeper dive into the ordinary pops forward the extraordinary life we search for – and has been there waiting for us to be.
Blissed by cats, potatoes and clouds, Lorraine is a “left-brained creative big picture idea” type who never stops questioning or connecting the dots to make real what isn’t yet seen. She uses her knack for combining intuitive abilities and logic to help re-ignite what Lights you up inside and make real “there’s something more”. Lorraine’s deepest wish is for you to be full of yourself in everything you do – a life truly lived in bliss.
