I don’t like heights and I don’t like deep water. There is no rhyme or reason for these phobias that I have carried for over fifty years.

If you asked people their greatest fear, a large percentage would say it was speaking in front of people. I have adored speaking in front of people since I was a child. Where did this come from?

So what is it that has created our fears? How was our need for courage in some areas birthed? Why is that in other areas we can confidently move forward?

In my world, I have explored other worlds. I have tried exploration of the why’s behind my fears and my joys.  This is what I have come to understand over the years.

This is not our first time playing on planet earth. We have had other experiences, in other times and places, that have laid energetic imprints upon the beings that we are. Those experiences have created who we are in relationship to life this time around.

That explains a lot to me. It explains the child prodigy who plays the piano like a master. It explains the babies that take to water like little ducklings.  The list goes on and on.

If you thought about it you could easily retrieve your own examples and memories.

So, when we have an opportunity to explore our deepest fears, isn’t it really an opportunity for healing? It is an opportunity to make ourselves whole?

“There is nothing to fear but fear itself.”

~Franklin D. Roosevelt

Do our fears hold us back from being whole? Do our fears as a society hold us back?

Some fears can overwhelm us. They can cause responses in our physical being and we react and remove our being to perceived safety.  Sometimes that is a good thing and sometimes it isn’t.

Two years ago I decided to go skydiving with my husband.  I hadn’t like heights and yet I was going to willing go up in a plane and jump out of it, with him. I was excited. Could I conquer my fear?  As I strapped on the gear I was in a contemplative mood. I told myself that I was securely strapped to an experienced skydiver. He loved what he was doing and he was cute to boot! Yet, as I sat on the edge of the plane door and saw how high up we were there was a moment when I wondered what I was doing.

He counted down and nudged me forward. It was time. There was no going back. We were plummeting through the air and I was in total joy. It was a yipeeeee moment, a wow moment and  “I can’t believe I am doing this!” moment.  I was descending through clouds! I saw what the birds saw and I felt the wind and air rush by me. Oh the joy, the joy! The moment we landed I wanted to do that again.

It was an exhilarating moment to conquer my fear of heights. It was an empowering moment. Another piece of me was retrieved and landed in my being and I became more than I had allowed myself to be.

Sometimes the only thing you can do to conquer a fear is to do it.

And sometimes you need to explore yourself and your fears.

What dear ones, are you so afraid of? There is nothing to be fearful of. You are eternal beings and now is the opportunity to claim yourself in ways that you haven’t done before. Now is the time when you are supported in ways unimaginable, ways that will you move you forward into the fullness of your being. The hows and whys are not always necessary, but a willing heart is always necessary.

So many of you on planet earth are tired of being less than and seeing others as less than. You can see the infinite possibilities that are available to you and others.

You want more and that desire for more will move you through your fears with ease, if you let it.  If you have a desire and if you ask, the answer will come.  You will be given opportunities to shine, opportunities to reveal yourself in your holiness.

You dear ones will always by your very questioning, will find yourself standing in new and unexplored territory ready to ask again.

The greatest courage that we know is that first decision to land on planet earth again. You knew that there would be challenging experiences. You also knew that you would not be in it alone.

Every step that you take, you are supported. Every step that you choose will bring you to a place of another choice. But what we see is that the choices are becoming more. You are not locked in any longer to a concrete future. You and your planet are birthing a new future for everyone.

The only courage that you need is the knowing that you chose this place and this time. You choose everyday what to do next and if it doesn’t work you can choose again. Have the courage not to stay stuck in a position that does not serve you.

Have the courage that is your birthright to reach for the stars. The only thing that stops you is you. The energy is flowing regardless of what you do but you can play in that energy and direct the flow of the energy in a more conscious way.

If you sit on the sidelines you will feel as if you are in a raging river not of your making. But, you did have something to do with the creation of the river.

Now what will you do with that?

Perhaps build a boat, hop on a raft or even fly over it into calmer waters-you get to choose. The joy is in the choosing. The more deliberate you become in your choosing and your ability to choose again and again, the more you will revel in the flow of the river-the energy that is your life.

Step outside of where you are and do something that lights you up. Step outside of a position you have taken and see if there is another way, a more loving way. Step outside of your stories and choose and choose and choose.  Free will is not overrated-ask any child. It is the only reason you decided to venture forth once again.

You are all magnificent beings of light and love and your very being is on planet earth to contribute to the whole. Some of you do it in seemingly smaller ways and some in seemingly larger ways.

There is no judgment on our parts. You are the only ones who judge. Step outside of your judgment and choose again. That dear ones takes courage and you have more than enough of it to live the life that calls to you.

The joy we have for you would look like rainbows and sunshine, like fireworks on the fourth of July, like the smiles that a new baby receives, like a flower offering itself for your enjoyment and so much more. You cannot imagine the joy we have for you and the love we have for you-all because you were courageous enough to play once more on planet earth.

And that dear ones is cause for celebration!

  1. I am fearful of riding at the scary rides at six flags eversince I started having kids. I do not know why. But your post has just given me the motivation to try riding again. We are going at Fright Fest today and I will see if I would be able to ride even one today 🙂

    • Hi Cherrie!
I totally understand that. In Ontario, Canada, where I grew up there is a park called Wonderland. I used to take my son and his friend there but would never go on any rides! Later when he was a young adult we went as a family, including a visiting stepdaughter. She eggd me to get on the roller coaster. Nope-I wasn’t doing it! Come on she said, rather forcibly. I got on and enjoyed it and was empowered by it. I consequently went on every roller coaster, The Drop Zone and a ride where they hoisted you up in a harness and then let you loose to fly over the crowds. I got off that ride so pumped that I was jumping up and down with joy! I was so happy that I pushed past my comfort zone for that first roller coaster ride! I know you could have the same experience if you allow yourself to be in the moment and out of the what ifs 🙂

  2. I fear spiders… don’t know why, but I do… oh and apparently save crickets, but I swear they are like jumping spiders…lol.

I know they can be helpful in getting rid of any bugs within a home, but I still have this irrational fear of them… especially the ones that are bigger than your hand.

    • Not an uncommon fear for many people. I always say hello and admire the webs that they build. I would imagine your fear of spiders may have been inherited and maybe not as irrational as you think. Ask who does this belong to? and see if an answer comes to you. If in that question you feel a lightening in your being-it isn’t yours. And so repeat after me-if you want to play-All the decisions, judgments and conclusions I have reached, all the fears that I have, around spiders and any other poor unsuspecting bug and I will to let go of? destroy and uncreate ? (if the answer is yes-say good and bad, right and wrong, all nine, shorts, boys and beyonds. You might want to say it over and over when it occurrs to you and see how the energy shifts around that. Good luck!

  3. Love it, love it, love it!! So true. I have read that only the bravest Souls attempt this journey back to Earth again because it is so difficult–difficult in that we feel like we are separate and alone here. Also thank you for including my painting “Purple Heart” -it was one of my early ones!! I painted my 90th paining of the year last night called “Stepping Stones” showing how we get guidance from the other side.

As you say “we are all magnificent” beings” thank you for what you are putting out in the world!

    xo Laurie

    • Well I don’t know whether the bravest or just the ones rested up enough to do it again (laughing)
Kathy Sprinkle of Bliss Habits found the artwork for this. She is amazing at that!
