Trust and Surrender
by January Handl
For the orgasm that I feel sings
all the way through me,
no – actually sings me,
offering an out of body experience
with my vocals just announcing
what my body is one-focus
wave after wave of the tickly-joy
explosions that connect me
to the cosmos
from every cell and every nuclei
from every micro reflection
of my being
I can cascade and ascend
wrenching every muscle
with delight and abandon
all of me
it was nice
Romance has many faces. There is the soft and beautiful side, often found in the decorative touches we bring into our homes. There is a playful part that encourages silliness and fun even when “grown up” responsibilities loom. There are looks we share with our lovers, the nuance with which we test a first lingering touch, there are grand gestures and thoughtful expressions all of which we can control. However it takes trust and surrender, as January so beautifully tells, to allow the passionate side to sing!
Having Passion as one of my Bliss Habits, I’ve considered the Passion in our relationships but I haven’t considered the nuance of the two habits together. It is possible to be romantic on your own but passionate romance requires an other to whom you grant full access to your heart and soul. Sometimes our romantic dances imply this union but as January so brilliantly concludes, if we haven’t really fully surrendered and offered our trust, it has only been “nice.”
For this week’s Bliss Initiative, I am inviting you to enjoy all the “lovely” romance has to offer (captured beautifully in Tamara’s orchid to the left) and to take a chance when the passionate side beckons (Tamara has captured the compelling metaphor in the showcase photo above) and surrender to more then just nice!
“The simplicity of it is this: give everything you have to give in every moment, completely.” ~David Deida
